While Qi chargers and wireless charging stations are becoming more popular, the company Technovator thinks it can do better. Its Technovator XE wireless charger is claimed to be able to charge your devices from a distance of 17 feet.
Of course, there are caveats. The further your device is from the charger, the longer it takes but an average phone located 5-6 feet from the charger will recharge in four hours. You can also expect it to use up a lot more power than standard wireless chargers. Also an obstacle: thick walls. Still, the plus point is that the XE can charge up to four devices at the same time without a loss of speed, and more devices than that but at a slower rate.
It's not available as yet, with no pricing details finalised but there will be a Kickstarter campaign in November and general retail availability by next year. Signup to the company's website to be notified about the Kickstarter when it happens.
