What you know thus far about the Sony Xperia Z4 tablet might be wrong

A new set of rumours arise, contradicting what we’ve already learnt about the device

We’ve been seeing lots of coverage surrounding the unofficial Sony Xperia Z4 smartphone so we were wondering when more leaks about the tablet would make their way online.

Well, we got what we were hoping for, but this new set of information does not reinforce what we currently know about the alleged device. Instead, they contradict previous rumours and have, sadly, confused us.

The main difference is, this set of leaks indicate that the Sony Xperia Z4 tablet comes with a 2K display. This is unlike previous rumours, which mentioned that the unit would boast a 4K screen.

The new leak was first picked up by Xperia Blog, which saw the slate make a premature appearance on Sony’s Xperia Lounge Android application before being quickly taken down. And considering that the previous rumour was outed by Chinese site, Padnews, we think there’s more value to the latest findings.

There’s a leaked image of the device too, which shows off an Xperia Z3-like design with curved, metal edges. Otherwise, no other information was made available from this source.

However, we’re certain that it will meet some of our expectations – including an IP rating for water and dust resistance, in addition to a beefy 12,100mAh battery, 64GB of RAM, an 8MP snapper and PS4 Remote Play.

The leaked Xperia Lounge screenshot also indicated that the tablet would be officially launched at the MWC 2015 tradeshow next week, alongside the Sony Xperia Z4 smartphone. Stuff’s staff will be live at the event, so we’ll bring you more then.
