From December 1 2019, an unknown number of Samsung smart TVs will no longer have Netflix. According to a Netflix representative, this is due to technical limitations and while this is important to know, the challenge is that currently there is no clear list of which Samsung Smart TVs are affected.
The Netflix representative stated that it will be a "small number of older devices" and that they have notified all impacted members with more information about alternative devices that support Netflix. Samsung's support page has also included a notice that also states technical limitations as the reason for losing Netflix support. "Some older Samsung smart TVs are affected by this change," the page reads. "In the future, Netflix can be viewed from many other devices capable of connecting to your TV."
The problem is there is no list on which devices specifically have been affected. Even if you checked out Netflix's list of compatible devices, it states brands and not devices specifically.
While this may be a bit of an inconvenience to those affected, on the bright side the solution isn't exactly to buy a new smart TV (unless that's what you want). You can always purchase a Chromecast or a legal Android box to access Netflix on your Samsung TV as a more affordable option. It would still be good to know which devices are affected though!
