Looks like Huawei's planning to update its popular Honor 5X with the Honor 6X, seeing how the pictures have now popped up on China's TENNA website.
While the device doesn't look as polished or as slick as the Honor 8, the dual-camera setup might appeal for those wanting that kind of setup on a budget. The Honor 'X' series is known for offering decent mid-range specs for a very good price.
What is evident from the pictures is the dual-camera setup in the back, the latest trend where cameras are concerned on smartphones. There is also a fingerprint scanner under the cameras, perhaps one of the more convenient fingerprint placements.
As for the build, there's a mix of metal and plastic on the phone, like to keep costs down. The plastic can be seen on the upper and lower ends of the Honor 6X.
As for specs, expect a return of the 5.5in display while the processor is rumoured to be the Kiron 650 with 3GB of RAM, as well as 32GB of internal storage. Battery-wise, expect a 3340mAh battery while the camera will be 12MP in the back for the main rear shooter but 2MP for the secondary rear camera. As for the front camera, it'll be an 8MP front-facing camera.
When will it be out? Expect it soon, perhaps around mid-October. Price-wise, we expect it to follow the Honor 5X in having a fairly affordable price to make it very competitive in the mid-range segment.
