Cyber Monday 2016: All the best deals and where to find them

(Updated 1600) Black Friday’s not-so-little brother is here - and there are plenty of deals to be had

Where Black Friday’s annual bargain-fest once brought hoards of penny-saving shoppers to the doors of stores in the US and, more recently, the UK, its online sibling has since stolen much of the melee for itself.

Meet Cyber Monday: the digital equivalent of the cut-price rampaging first introduced by Black Friday, where quick-fingered clickers and speedy bargain-browsers can snap up seriously tasty prices on top tech.

Sure, there’ll be everything from cut-price pottery to inexpensive sneakers, but the properly appealing deals live in the gadget category: tablets, TVs, cameras and more will all grace the virtual shelves of shops such as Amazon, Tesco and Currys.

Worried you’ll miss out on some wicked-cheap kit? Look no further than our guide to the best Cyber Monday 2016 deals - and where to find them.

NB: Although we endeavour to keep this page as up-to-date as possible, many of the deals are subject to availability, so not all may still be available when you click. Be patient with us. It's a busy day :)

What is Cyber Monday?

In simple terms, it’s a rapid-fire sale of epic proportions. Retailers slash price tags on a whole host of hot products – including heaps of high-end tech.

Falling on the Monday after America’s Thanksgiving weekend, it’s purposefully placed to tap into Black Friday hysteria that peaks the week before – and signals the start of the Christmas shopping carnival.

As the annual extravaganza has expanded, so too has the number of places jumping on the spending spree bandwagon – with 2016 set to see a whole host of marketplaces, stores and tech makers delivering delicious discounts.

The best news? All you need to worry about is choosing what to buy. We’ll have the top crop of price cuts and super savings, right here.

When is Cyber Monday 2016?

This year, Cyber Monday comes on November 28 – or, at least, that’s the official date. As both Black Friday and Cyber Monday have grown it’s become harder and harder to stick a smartphone between them: from weekend deals to Cyber Week, Cyber Monday 2016 is set to offer more deals, for longer, than ever before.

As for the deals themselves, they can occur at any time, day or night. Some will start at midnight, others in the wee hours of the morning. Best unearth that flask, then.

Still, at least the late nights should be worth it: we’ll be here with all the dates and times for the best gadgets going.

What should you buy on Cyber Monday?

Whatever’s on your wish list. Seriously: like Black Friday, Cyber Monday has increasingly seen every category of pretty kit have its prices cut – and 2016 is set to be no exception.

From 4K TVs to gaming machines, the whole gadget world tends to see a good reduction come Cyber Monday.

Those in the market for tablets and smartphones should do especially well, as these often undergo hefty price slices (with contract costs drastically reduced), whilst games consoles – particularly the PS4 and Xbox One – regularly appear with big reductions from their RRPs.

As for media hoarders, Blu-ray bargains are ten-a-penny come Cyber Monday, whilst everything from action cams to bluetooth speakers tend to find their way into the bargain bins.
