Sony devices Black Friday deals logo

With a stellar reputation and long history, Sony’s tech is some of the best you can buy. And this Black Friday, the gadgets get even better, with huge savings across Sony’s bes gear. You’ll find deals on tellies, wireless speakers, wireless headphones, and smartphones.

Sony WF-1000XM5 headphones – now £219

The Sony WF-1000XM5 are the latest iteration of the firm’s flagship ANC in-ears, and promise to silence the outside world by a significant 20% more than the outgoing (and excellent) WF-1000XM4. The new model is also 25% smaller and 20% lighter than the XM4, which were already pretty tiddly, yet still find room inside for larger 8.4mm speaker drivers. And this Black Friday, they’re discounted by £40.

Sony’s bespoke Dynamic Driver X uses a combo of hard and soft materials to strip out unwanted distortion, and is meant to cover a wider frequency range this time around. It has dual on-board processors for 24-bit audio signal processing and ANC. The latter uses three microphones per ear to listen to your surroundings. Bone conduction sensors and a mesh covering for the feed-forward mic also help cut down on wind noise when making voice calls.

A small set of ear tips is included, along with small, medium and large sizes – so there’s no excuse for not having a comfortable and secure fit. The buds are IPX4 splash resistant, so will cope just fine with a sweaty gym session or light rain shower. They also come with LDAC Bluetooth support for high-quality streaming, Multipoint for dual device connectivity, Spotify Tap for quickly resuming your most recent playlist, and head-tracking 360 Reality Audio spatial sound.

Battery life is clocked at 24 hours with ANC on – that’s eight hours from the buds themselves, plus two full top-ups from the compact charging case, which of course supports both wired and wireless charging. Sony reckons a three minute splash and dash can add another 60 minutes of listening time, too.

Sony WF-C700N wireless headphones – now £80

Sony’s WF-C700N headphones are true wireless in-ears, packing the firm’s noise-cancelling tech at a much more wallet-friendly price than premium models. And for Black Friday, they’re even more friendly on the wallet, down by £20 to £80.

The WF-C700N buds are moulded to perfectly match the average human ear, so you can listen for longer without any discomfort, and the cylindrical charging case they slip into is svelte enough to slip into even small pockets. They use multiple microphones to monitor outside audio and Sony’s bespoke ANC algorithms to strip it out, with an ambient sound transparency mode for staying aware of your surroundings. There’s also adaptive adjustment, which switches ANC strength based on frequently visited locations.

5mm dynamic drivers promise “powerful bass and stunningly clear vocals”, according to Sony, and play nicely with the firm’s DSEE audio upscaling tech. The Headphones Connect companion app adds customisable EQ into the mix, too. They’re IPX4 resistant, so will work just fine as workout buds, and Multipoint Bluetooth supports dual device connectivity.

You should expect 15 hours of total listening time with ANC enabled, the buds managing seven and a half hours by themselves, and the case containing one full charge in reserve.

Sony WF-C500 wireless earbuds – now £45

Looking for the perfect set of earbuds for your workout? Sony’s WF-C500 are up for the job, and are some of the brand’s most affordable in-ears. And this Black Friday, they’re even more affordable with a £15 discount to £45.

Sony’s WF-C500 true wireless in-ears promise to improve the playback quality of your motivation playlist for less. While many active earphones go big on bass, Sony’s Digital Sound Enhancement Engine instead aims to accentuate high-frequency sounds for more authentic audio. Particular about tonal balance? Levels can be tweaked to suit your aural affections through the Headphones Connect app.

A moulded design means each earbud should lock snugly into your lughole, while IPX4 waterproofing ensures sweat won’t stop the party. Battery life will see you through 10 hours of listening (enough for all but the nuttiest endurance athletes), with a 10-minute visit to the charging case adding an extra hour’s listening. Each bud hits the scales at a barely-there 5.4g.

Sony SRS-XB100 portable wireless speaker – now £40

Sony’s SRS-XB100 portable wireless speaker isn’t just any old tinny sound blaster, oh no. It’s like Sony took a chunk of their high-end audio tech and squished it into a package you can actually lug around without throwing your back out. The SRS-XB100 is a testament to portability meeting power, proving you can have your cake and eat it too, if your cake is booming bass and pristine audio. And this Black Friday you can score the speaker for less, discounted by £15 to £40.

This little beast packs a punch with its Extra Bass technology, ensuring that your music doesn’t just sound good, it feels good. The kind of bass that resonates in your chest, you know? And with up to 24 hours of battery life, it’s like the Energizer Bunny of speakers – it keeps going and going. Plus, it’s IP67 rated, so it’s dustproof and waterproof. That means it’s ready for your clumsiest friends or a sudden downpour at your impromptu garden party.

The SRS-XB100 isn’t just a one-trick pony with its bass-heavy antics. It also offers Bluetooth connectivity and a handy USB-C charging port, making it as convenient as it is powerful. The design is sleek, modern, and let’s be honest, it looks pretty darn cool. In a world where portable speakers are a dime a dozen, the Sony SRS-XB100 stands out as a reminder that sometimes, small packages can deliver a hefty audio punch.
