If you're an audiophile but also enjoy taking your music to parties or big crowds, your option is usually limited to boom boxes or small portable speakers. That's great and all, but if you're looking for something that delivers powerful audio and bass with just the connection of your bluetooth, the JBL PartyBox 300 has got your back.

Plenty of great features

These days when you think of bluetooth speakers, the only type that comes to mind are desktop versions that come in squares or rectangles. But the JBL PartyBox 300 aims to challenge that idea by being a massive bluetooth speaker that not only amplifies your music straight from your phone - it also comes with a bass boost.

In fact, the PartyBox 300 has plenty of features that make it really ideal. The bluetooth feature is the best, sure, but there's also a USB port for you to connect your music directly, as well as a mic and guitar jack; giving you more options in how you want to get your music out there. Perfect for buskers too!

The speakers also come with colourful LED strobe lights that you can set to your liking; definitely a plus for party lovers or if you like spicing up your performance.

Other features to look out for include its rechargeability - it's portable for a reason, after all! With a 10,000mAh battery, as long as it's charged up, the PartyBox 300 can last up to 18 hours. This comes with a price, of course, in which doing a full charge feels like it takes just as long.

Rock to your own beat

The audio quality of the JBL PartyBox 300 is amazing; even without the bass boost, music already sounds great. But add on the bass boost and you will have a party rocking out to you (as long as the music has great bass in it of course). So it’s not just about the music being louder for all to hear; everyone can feel the music too.

If you want to take your music to the next level, having a second PartyBox 300 is a great option. The two speakers can be paired to amplify your music even further

Being a guitarist, knowing that the PartyBox 300 has a guitar jack which means you can totally use it to rock out. Setup is also a breeze, but don't expect a lot of options unless you have a pedal board. Without it, all you get is a typical acoustic guitar play. Still not a bad option though! Add on the mic jack and you can do a performance with a friend, or even by yourself.

While the PartyBox 300 proudly claims to be portable, we have our doubts. The PartyBox 300 is really heavy, with a weight of 15kg! It does come with rubber grip handles at the side to make it easier to carry, but I would still recommend having two people carry it around, or just keep it in your car if possible.

Speaking of which, the speakers do come with a car charger cable that's long and thick - perfect for your car if you want to keep the party mobile wherever you are.

With a price of MYR 1,999 it does feel like you’re paying a hefty price for a portable speaker. But considering the great features it has, we can say without a doubt that it’s worth getting as long as it fits your need of great music for all to hear.
