Augmented reality (AR) is poised to get even bigger, and there's a new AR headset that's banking on that. Take a look at the Mira Prism.
No being shut out
While most VR headsets would enclose your entire head, the Mira works by perching itself just above your eyes, with the image projecting itself onto a screen placed ahead of you. So you can still see the real-life environment around you, while being able to look at images projected onto the screen.
You would need to open the Mira app on your smartphone (currently only the iPhone 6, 6S and 7 are supported) then slot it into your headset.
There is even a spectator mode, which lets people see what's going on via an app. Right now, the Mira SDK is planned to drop in August, allowing developers a first look and the opportunity to create their own apps to work with the platform.
Curious? You could take a chance on the headset by preordering it on its website for US$99 (RM425).
