Oppo quietly outs its N1 Mini in Malaysia

Hardware specifications and availability details of the mini version were official since last week

Why so secretive Oppo? Just yesterday, the Chinese electronics vendor released a teaser of its Oppo N1 Mini, giving us a glimpse into what to expect from the smartphone. But apparently, the vendor’s released the device, in the quietest way possible.

Since last week, Oppo announced the N1 Mini's availability on its Facebook page and website. Not surprising, considering the fact that Malaysia has been one of the first few countries to receive stock of Oppo’s technologies.

Now that the N1 Mini’s no longer a mystery unit, we’ve got hold of its hardware specifications and availability details. The N1 Mini is, obviously, a smaller variant of its predecessor, the Oppo N1. It measures 148.4 x 72.2 x 9.2mm, and weights 150g, which is slightly on the heavier side for a phone of that size.

What can we expect?

Just as the teaser indicated, the N1 Mini is adept to shooting in 24MP ultra-HD mode although it features a 13MP swirling camera (perfect for all those selfies and wefies). In addition, it has a 5in HD display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory, as well as 4G LTE support.

It's powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset with an Adreno 305 GPU and 1.6Hz Cortex-A7 processor, and will run on the company’s Color operating system based on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.

The Oppo N1 Mini is selling in Malaysia for RM1398. As expected, it's a slightly pricier unit for a budget smartphone. But considering its specs and features, it's worthy of its value.

The smartphone is expected to rollout in other countries, in the coming days.
