Asus is levelling up their hardware in the Republic Of Gamers line, giving a lot of options and variety for every gamer out there. If you’re an avid gamer and you’re looking to level up your gaming experience, then look no further than the Asus ROG Zephyrus GX502G.

Massive Upgrade

A big step up from the previous release of the GX501G and a great alternative to the Zephyrus S GX701G, the Zephyrus GX502G provides every fundamental and principle elements that make up a great gaming laptop. From skewing the typical beefy and chunky gaming laptops designs of yesteryear, to a more sleek and light design, the GX502 is easier for on-the-go gamers to bring it around. Besides being less back-breaking, the GX502 also doesn’t break the bank with its base price of MYR 8,499. Compared to the other products in the ROG line, this is a pretty affordable price.

The GX502G comes fully equipped with the all-new 9th generation Intel i7-9750H processor, 16GB of RAM, 512GB of storage, RTX 2070 8GB graphics card, and a 15.6-inch Full HD screen. The GX502G features the world’s first 240 Hz 3MS screen with G-Sync and Pantone validated display, which provides a super smooth and vibrant gaming experience.

Top Notch Performance

The 240 Hz refresh rate might seem excessive but it definitely makes for a very serene and stunning look for every game you play on this laptop. Combined that with the RTX 2070 and i7 processor, you got all the makings for a no frills gaming experience. Whether you’re playing 3D powerhouses like Apex Legends or a beautiful 2D RPG like Transistor, you’ll know your game will run well and look good too. This also goes for any video or photo editing you would want to do on this laptop.

Like all of Asus’ newer laptops, the Zephyrus GX502G has an Ergolift hinge, similar to the ones found  on the Vivobook S14 and Zenbook S. The sleek look of the laptop certainly gives a premium finish, though smudges are still a prevalent issue on the laptop’s chassis.

Unseen And Unheard

One big setback would be the lack of a webcam, with the laptop giving you almost everything you would need with a laptop if you weren’t thinking of Skyping anyone with the GX502G. Besides that, the Zephyrus GX502G can get awfully loud, even when  placed into “Silent” mode. Though that feature actually does the job of keeping this beast of a laptop cooled during massive gaming sessions.

All in all, the Zephyrus GX502G is a great all-in-one laptop that fits the bill for work and pleasure. The 240 Hz display and new i7 processor is unparalleled, though it is a shame that it has no webcam and it has noisy fans. Still, an amazing machine nonetheless.
