You'll need both hands for Xiaomi's Max phablet when it launches in May

If you subscribe to the "bigger is better" motto, then look out for Xiaomi's largest smartphone yet

Xiaomi keeps steadily rolling out new smartphones and its latest and biggest is the Xiaomi Max. The model is coming out rather soon, 10 May in fact. Xiaomi boss Lei Jun has confirmed the date so as far as that goes, no need for speculation.

Besides a 6.4in display, it’s not very clear what kind of specs the phone is packing. What’s certain is the phone will have a large battery to fit the huge display judging from Lei Jun’s remarks that people will be “pleasantly surprised”.

Other noted observed details are that the phone is likely to have a fingerprint design, likely placed over its home button though that is unconfirmed. Also expected to launch alongside the phone is the update to Mi’s MiBand smart band, the MiBand 2. It exists for certain as Lei Jun was pictured wearing it and showing off the band’s tiny display as opposed to the first-gen’s display less design.
