Xiaomi's Mi Pad 3 will run Windows

It's bigger, thinner and maybe a tiny bit pricier

Waiting on a new tablet? Xiaomi's latest, the Mi Pad 3 might just be a cool option.

Super-thin

The last couple of Mi Pad were lauded for their good specs-to-price ratio but there hasn't been word on a Mi Pad 3 until now. Still, despite the official-looking photos, it might not necessarily be a final product.

From the leaks, the new tablet will have a 9.7-in high-resolution display and is only 6.08mm thick but weighs 380g. As for the battery it's 8290mAh with a USB Type-C port as well as quick charging support. As for the speakers, they'll be at the bottom flanking the Type-C port.

Expect an IntelCore processor with an Intel HD Graphics 615 chip with a generous 8GB of RAM with choices of 128GB and 256GB of storage, as well as a fingerprint scanner.

Camera-wise, the tablet will have a 16MP rear camera with dual-tone flash with an 8MP front camera. As for the OS, expect it to come with Windows 10 as well as the MS Office Suite and Cortana. There's also mention of a keyboard dock as well.

Pricing? RMB1999 (RM1290) for the 128GB version and RMB2299 (RM1480) for the 256GB version with a rumoured release at 30 December.
