Barely months after the Huawei P8 was launched here, the Huawei P9 series was announced and seems likely to arrive here soon. The P9 especially got a lot of buzz for what were touted to be 'Leica-like' lenses on the camera.
A recent launch in Bali means the phone will be coming here rather soon and while there are no official prices as yet, Directd (temporarily) put up prices of the devices only to take them down later. The Huawei P9 Lite might start at RM999 while the P9 could cost about the same as the Huawei Mate 8 at RM2,099. As for the Huawei P9 Plus, it could retail for around RM2,599.
Bear in mind that these are just estimates, but from Huawei's track record they're unlikely to be far off the mark. Expect the prices to be around those figures give or take RM100-200. Huawei likes to price itself at a mid-to-high price point and it's unlikely to change tack anytime soon, despite heavy pressure from ultra-low prices from the likes of Xiaomi and Vivo.
