MWC 2020 Has Been Cancelled Due To COVID-19

The biggest mobile show for 2020 will not happen after all

It looks like the coronavirus (COVID-19) fears has escalated enough to cancel plenty of events, and now the world's biggest mobile tech show has also decided to play it safe and cancel as well. The Mobile World Congress 2020 (MWC 2020), which was meant to take place on 24 - 27 February 2020 in Barcelona, will be cancelled for safety and health reasons.

They weren't the only ones concerned. Other brands such as Sony, Ericsson, Amazon, LG, Nvidia, Vivo, Huawei, Intel, and even Facebook have opted to not attend MWC 2020 beforehand. With so many brands opting out, this may have also contributed to the cancellation as well.

Despite this cancellation, we may be seeing some announcements from mobile tech makers Realme, Oppo, and Xiaomi, through online presentations. But whether they will officially launch their announced devices remains uncertain as of now.

You can read the full statement on the cancellation on the MWC official website.
