LG's 4k monitor is gaming-optimised

AMD's FreeSync helps cut down on tearing and stuttering

LG's latest IPS 4K IPS 27MU67 monitor seems to have a particular demographic in mind. If you're a gamer who hates when video gets choppy then the promise of AMD's display-optimising FreeSync text might entice you.

To use FreeSync, you’d need to use a DisplayPort-supporting setup with the monitor having both mini and full-sized ports, coupled with dual HDMI input slots.

Besides FreeSync, this model also comes with a gaming mode that reduces input lag to a mere 9.7ms. You can tweak it according to one of three presets, one for RTS games and the other two for FPS.

How much will it retail for? US$599. Only caveat is that its refresh rate only ranges between 40Hz to 60Hz, but you have to keep in mind that with a 3840 x 2160 native resolution, upping the frame rate would be pretty tricky. No word on when it'll be coming to our shores though but if you're in the market for a 4K monitor, put this on your consideration list.
