Huawei's letting you trade in your old phone for a Huawei Mate 8

Accepted trade in models are limited to specific models and brands, however

Huawei’s been actively promoting various trade in programs for its phone models and the next model up is the Huawei Mate 8. From 8 April to 30 June 2016, you can trade in your old smartphone for a discount on its latest phone.

The program as per usual is selective about the models and brands it will accept. So far only Apple, Samsung, Sony, HTC and Lenovo phones are accepted and even then only specific models. As to trade in amounts, from perusing the available list, you are likely to get a minimum of RM150 in trade value up to RM1,750. The latter however will only apply to newer, high-end models.

Huawei is also only accepting devices that are in working condition. They must be able to power on and off, the device must be unlocked with an accessible IMEI number, the display screen must be functional, with no cracks and otherwise no other major damage to the device.

The Huawei Mate 8 is the company's latest premium tablet: 6in display, Kirin 950 processor, 32GB internal storage with 3GB of RAM, and a 16MB rear camera with OIS. It also comes in standard and premium variants.

Those who choose the standard Mate 8 variant over the premium version will get an additional RM100 rebate off the RRP. For a full list of stores where you can walk in and trade in your phone and accepted models (with their trade in value), check out this handy promo flyer.
