We've just received the invite for another Honor device launch from Huawei. There'll be two new phones, namely the Honor 5x, the Honor 7 Enhanced Edition and the Honor Band Z1.
The Honor 5x looks to be giving the older Honor 6 serious competition: With a 5.5-inch 1080p IPS display, Snapdragon 615 processor, 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory as well as a 3,000mAh battery, it looks like a decent midrange phone. At the recent CES, it got quite a lot of attention, picking up accolades deeming it one of the most noteworthy phones on show - likely due to the really good price to specs ratio. For US$199 (RM853) unlocked, on paper the phone looks like a pretty interesting deal.
As for the Honor 7 Enhanced Edition, it looks a lot like the Honor 7 but it will come with 32GB instead of 16GB onboard and runs on the Emotion UI 4.0 (based off Android Marshmallow 6.0).
We expect pricing for the Honor 5x to hover somewhere between the RM700-RM900 mark while the Honor 7 will probably be around sub-RM1.2k. Look out for the update next week at the launch.
