Huawei MediaPad M3 Lite gets Malaysian debut

Its bigger brother the Huawei MediaPad M3 gets a discount too

Shopping for an Android tablet? Huawei's just dropped its MediaPad M3 Lite, a lower-specced alternative to the MediaPad M3. But if you're holding out for a M3 instead, the M3 is also getting a promo discount.

Sweet spot

Unlike the larger M3, the M3 Lite relies on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 octa-core processor. It also has an 8in 1928 x 1200 pixel display, as well as 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The display comes with Huawei's ClariVu feature that promises blue-light filtration for better eyesight protection, and it also has 4096 levels of backlight precision compared to the standard 256 levels found commonly.

It comes with a 4800mAh battery, supports WiFi and LTE with 8MP cameras in the back and the front, as well as dual stereo speakers that have SWS3.0 Harmon Kardon certification. As for the UI, it's running EMUI 5.1.

In Malaysia it's available in Gold and Space Gray for the price of RM999 and will be sold from 13 October 2017 at Huawei Experience stores and Display Zones, and customers will get a complimentary leather casing in the box.

The MediaPad M3 will get a price drop - now RM1699 when it was previously RM1999, from 13 October 2017 as well.
