Corrupt Cops: The Kickstarter game that's almost too real, bro

Interesting premise behind game promises to entertain while possibly giving the middle finger to the establishment

A game about corrupt cops? Look, if the Tropico franchise could go into its fifth iteration in a game about a corrupt dictator of an island republic then a game about corrupt cops could make it. It's a Kickstarter game (but of course) and it's named, well, Corrupt Cops.

On the surface of it, it has an interesting premise. Pushed into retirement, a police chief decides that he will make half-a-million dollars in the 180 days he has left before he has to turn in his badgge.

Line those pockets

The devs claim the game will also be like an interactive novel thanks to the story bits, with a blend of adventure game and strategy. You have to admit it is a ballsy take on a rather serious and depressing issue - corrupt cops.

Still the tone of the game is not preachy. At the very least, it seems as though the developers are trying to look at and figure out what exactly goes through the mind of a cop on the take.

If this sounds like a worthy project, then all you need to join the pot is hand over US$10 (RM36) at the Kickstarter page. Just don't expect the game to be out that soon, though as the 7-man team is targetting to finish the game by Dec 2015.
