Can the Oukitel K10000 really last 15 days on a single charge?

If something sounds too good to be true, it usually is

The Oukitel K10000 is as close to a modern day Nokia as you can get, with its purported 15 days of battery life.

But there are a few drawbacks to this situation as we found out when we got our hands on it at MWC. Things aren’t all that simply perfect.

For one, it is heavy compared to other smartphones. Oukitel did not share the official weight with us, but we’re guesstimating it at around two or three iPhone 6s Pluses. Simply put, the weight will be the first thing you notice about the phone. But that’s to be expected because of the big-boned 10,000mAh battery that lies within.

When it comes to battery life, however, we were told by an Oukitel spokesperson that his personal K10000 can last up to a week on normal use. So that purported 15-day battery life could possibly only hold true for if it’s on standby.

In any case, within the phone lies battery saving settings. We suppose if you put it on Smart Power or Super Power mode, you’ll be able to get the most out of its battery, but not the most of the phone's features like the 13MP camera or the 720p display.

Having said that, a phone that can last up to a week is already a modern miracle. So if you don’t mind its potentially false 15 day battery life claims, you can still get a whole lot of use out of it.

Until we can get our hands on a review unit, there’s no way of knowing for sure if that battery life is as good as promised.
