Budget 2020: Malaysians Aged 18 And Above To Receive MYR30 Via Selected eWallets

All to get more Malaysians to use eWallets

Malaysia's Budget 2020 announced that there will be a digital stimulus to get more Malaysians to use eWallets in Malaysia. As such, Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng, has announced that all Malaysians aged 18 years and above will get a one-off payment of MYR30 via selected eWallets.

You will need to have a verified eWallet account from these selected providers, though they have yet to reveal which eWallets. You also need to be earning an annual income of less than MYR100,000. You can redeem and use this for a period of two months; 1 January 2020 to 29 February 2020.

This will cost the Government MYR450 million to implement which aims to benefit 15 million Malaysians. The Government hopes that this incentive will speed up the transformation towards digital payments in the community as well as acceptance by small businesses. Hopefully, the government reveals more before the end of the year.
