After teasing us with multiple videos featuring a new pro-grade camera, Olympus has finally taken to announcing the new OM-D E-M1X - their new micro four thirds camera geared towards professionals. There are some features that,  at least on paper, make this a great camera and competitive in the market.

1. Weather-sealed Body

The OM-D E-M1X is dust-proof, splash-proof, and freeze-proof down to an impressive -10oC - even when you’re using any attachments, while on the other end, the OM-D E-M1X is said to be designed to dissipate heat when shooting video and during high-speed shooting in hot conditions.

2. 5-Axis Image Stabilization

The OM-D E-M1X has a new gyro sensor that supports an in-body 5-axis image stabilization system that is said to compensate for 7 stops and when used with the M.Zuiko Digital ED 12-100mm f/4.0 IS PRO lens, that number increased by half a stop to 7.5.

3. 60fps Burst Shooting

The E-M1X has the capability to shoot at a mind-blowing 60fps - though the caveat is that it locks your focus and exposure to the first frame. If you want to track your subject, it still shoots at a maximum speed of 18fps.

4. Built-In Neutral Density Filters

You have to bring along multiple ND filter with you anymore because the E-M1X has 5 levels of ND - ND 2, 4, 8, 16 and 32 which is one to five steps down.

The Olympus OM-D E-M1X will be available at the end of February and will be launching with a retail price of $2,999 (~MYR12,423).
