It was a bit of a mystery as to why we were getting the Redmi Note 9S instead of the Redmi Note 9 Pro, but after all the specs have been revealed it's pretty much settled; we're actually getting the Redmi Note 9 Pro, just that it's called the Redmi Note 9S.
As such, you can expect all the same specs from the Note 9 Pro; the Snapdragon 720G that makes it perfect for gaming, a 48MP quad camera setup that comes with depth, macro, and ultra wide angle lens with steady handheld night photography, palm shutter, and AI scene detection, side mounted finger print sensor (a first for the Redmi series), a whopping 5020mAh battery, and lastly comes with a 6.67" DotDisplay with a 91% screen to body ratio.
On top of that, you have the usual headphone jack, IR Blaster, Type C USB charging (the device comes with 18W fast charging and comes with a 22.5W in-box charger) and has splash resistant nano-coating to withstand splash and spills.
There are three colours to look out for - Aurora Blue, Glacier White, and Interstellar Grey - and there will be two versions launched in Malaysia; the 4GB + 64GB will be priced at RM799 and the 6GB + 128GB at RM899. The 4+64 version will be available during the Lazada Birthday sale happening this 27 March 2020 and have a special deal to boot, being priced at RM699 during the sale for two hours (12am - 2am). The 6+128 version is expected to be available around April 7 instead.
