Stuff Picks: The Honor 8 gets an honourable mention

Huge batteries are in along with a clickity-clackin' keyboard

Honor 8 (from RM1699)

The Honor 8 is finally available and with the Kirin 950 processor under the hood, 4GB RAM and dual-lens setup, you’re paying for a multitasking monster. Its front camera does what it says on the tin with an 8MP sensor and ‘Perfect Selfie’ and ‘Low Light Portrait’ modes for great selfies and wefies. The 3000mAh battery with fast charging support ensures you won’t be without your phone for long, even with all that snapping you'll be doing.

The Honor 8 is available in Pearl White, Midnight Black (32GB of internal storage), Sapphire Blue and Sunrise Gold (64GB internal storage). Buy it here.

Asus Zenfone 3 Max (RM799)

The Zenfone 3 Max sports a MediaTek MT6735 processor with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The metal body provides a nice and hefty feel to the very affordable phone which also has a 13MP rear camera and rear fingerprint sensor for fast, convenient access to your phone. The Zenfone 3 Max’s 4100mAh battery is the main draw for this phone; it also reverse charges which means it can act like a power bank for your other devices because sharing is caring.

Get it here in Sand Gold and Titanium Grey.

Razer Ornata (from RM 380)

Razer Ornata boasts the Mecha-Membrane switch which provides a cushioned touch while retaining the satisfying click associated with mechanical keyboards. The lower travel distance (3.5mm) of the keyboard makes the Ornata more responsive because its keycaps are shorter to reduce the time for its user’s action to register. It comes in monochrome (green backlit) and chroma (customisable lighting).

The Ornata is up for pre-order on Razer Malaysia’s online store and both variants come with a wrist rest to aid your marathon gaming sessions.

Huawei P9 Rose Gold (RM2399)

The P9 in Rose Gold is more than just a new colour with an upgrade to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. It's fronted in the same 5.2in Full HD display and runs on a Kirin 955 octa-core processor. The star of the P9 is of course the Leica co-engineered camera with dual 12MP rear cameras with an 8MP front camera. The P9 is also a member of the USB-C club when it comes to charging its 3000mAh battery, at least you won't have to figure out which side's the right side when you're plugging in in the dark.

The Huawei P9 Rose Gold is limited to 999 units for the Malaysian market and available at selected Huawei retail stores.
