If you have been aching long enough for a C-class raised well enough to take on the wild outdoors, ache no more.
The new Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 is here and it offers all the best bits from the C-class along with more teeth. The 2016 Auto Expo gave us a chance to take a closer look at the new SUV and it does not disappoint.
One look at the exterior and you are already thinking unflattering thoughts about the GLK, the model it replaces. With a swooping yet muscular exterior and a brilliantly designed interior, the new GLC 300 makes the GLK look like a cabinet on wheels. A turbo-charged four-cylinder 2.0 litre engine powers the car, whipping up 241bhp@5500 rpm, peaking out 273lb-ft of torque to tickle your belly at just the right moments. The 9-speed transmission ensures smooth shifts and improved fuel efficiency both in the city and out on the highways. In case you manage to mess things up, the nine airbags, including the one specifically installed for the driver's knees, should save the day and especially your legs.
Once you get inside, you will love the GLC 300 even more, thanks to a sense-tingling interior that offers best-in-class comfort and infotainment. Multi-colour ambient lighting, HD screen, HD radio, a gorgeous HUD and a scintillating surround sound system ensure that you don't get out of the car easily.
We’re looking forward to getting our hands on the new GLC 300, and will be driving one soon enough, so keep your eyes peeled for a full review.
