Following a successful launch in Kochi, Uber’s latest service is coming to nine more cities in India.
UberHIRE, mainly aimed at tourists, is a time-based cab service that waits for you as you explore various stop-overs. The on-demand service, after a successful pilot run in Kochi is coming to New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Vizag and Nagpur from today (Feb 6). More cities will be added over the coming weeks. Besides tourists, senior citizens and professionals travelling across a city for meetings will find the service useful.
The on-demand cab service will let you hold on to the Uber for upto 12 hours and will cost ₹449-649 for two hours and upto 30 kms. Post this you’ll be charged ₹2/min and ₹12/km with no dynamic or surge pricing. Pricing and cancellation charges might vary from city to city.
To use it, all you have to do is Open your Uber app > Slide over to UberHIRE > Set your pickup location > Request your ride. You’ll see your driver’s details straight away, along with the details of your car. Once your trip culminates, you’ll receive an e-receipt and it’s time to pay your total fare, which is calculated based on the distance and duration of your trip.
