7 things Asus launched for budget gamers

Knees weak, arms heavy, budget spaghetti

Strap up, Asus just opened its RGB-ridden crate of some affordable, some that make you feel poor, gaming products as well as some exclusives.

We're especially excited about the TUF gaming series. It's ROG's poor cousin but dressed for the occasion. Here’s what was on the menu along with the sandwich they served (without ketchup).

Asus AiMesh AX6100 WiFi System (RT-AX92U 2 Pack)

It’s the world’s first triband mesh WiFI system supporting the latest 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) standard and will be available in May. It also comes with OFDMA (Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access) and MU-MIMO.

If you haven’t Googled it already, it basically is a new standard that is compatible with older generation Wi-Fi standards which allows it to connect to more devices simultaneously while not compromising on the speed. The RT-AX92U 2-Pack is 2.7X faster than regular 802.11ac routers and offers coverage up to 5,500 sq. ft. Too much to hack? Too paranoid. You also get AiProtection Pro that secures all the connected devices on your home network and also has parental controls that allow you to manage usage. Asus also announced the Asus RT AX88U which is a dual-band router that runs on the 802.11ax WiFi standard.  Availability: May 2019, 25,000 (Asus AI Mesh), 28,000 (Asus RT AX88U).

The ASUS Zenbeam S2 Projector

The S2 weighs approximately 497g and has a brightness of 500 lumens with a native resolution of 720p and packs in 6000 mAh battery that delivers up to 3.5 hours of operation on a single charge. It doubles up as a power bank too and can charge a mobile device when not in use. The S2 can project up to 120in from a distance of 3m.

TUF Gaming GT501 Case

The GT501 is Asus’ first mid-tower case and supports up to EATX Motherboards. There’s a metal front panel with custom TUF Gaming spatter pattern over and you also get a 4mm, smoked, tempered-glass side panel to take a look inside. It is equipped with three 120mm Aura Sync RGB fans and one 140mm rear PWM fan. You also get an additional seven fan-mounting points for targeted airflow. The best bit! It comes fitted with two ergonomic, woven-cotton handles, rigorously tested to support up to 30kg – so it is less awkward when you and your PC are out for a stroll.

Availability: April 2019 at 12,500 plus taxes.

ROG Thor 850P

The Thor Platinum is an 850W power supply that comes with Aura Sync RGB and an integrated OLED information panel that displays info on the current wattage. Under the hood, high-quality capacitors, a 135mm Wing-blade fan, and large heatsinks allow the Thor to achieve LAMBDA A+ and 80 PLUS Platinum certifications.

ROG Ryujin 360

The Ryujin is the flagship all-in-one cooler for high-end builds designed to make your PC go ICE ICE BABY! Featuring Noctua Industrial PPC fans for cooler and quieter operation, plus an embedded fan in the pump housing for additional cooling to the VRM and M.2, it IS going to make your system sing.

EX-A320M-GAMING Motherboard

The EX-A320M supports AMD Ryzen processors, 7th Generation A-series accelerated processing units (APUs) and Athlon CPUs. It is a VR ready motherboard and is also Asus Aura RGB compatible. Now you can build an RGB-ridden system starting at just 5000.

ROG Balteus Qi

The ROG Balteus Qi is our favourite pick from the lot and is a gaming mouse pad that brings the convenience of Qi wireless charging to the desktop. Its large, portrait-oriented micro-textured surface is quite nice and you can game while the pad powers up your mouse and other compatible devices. It features 15 individually customizable Aura Sync RGB lighting zones.
