The main utility app, a fitness app and a sleep app. The key to the Nabu though would be the utility app. It&rsquo;s the main app that all Nabu users will have to download in order to set and control the smartband.</p> <p>It&rsquo;s also where users will be able to discover apps that are compatible with the Nabu. The Nabu utility functions as the gateway for the smartband to other apps, functionalities and use.</p> <p>That being said, Razer isn&rsquo;t just limiting the Nabu to its own homegrown apps. They&rsquo;re making it an open platform so anyone can make an app for it. The possibilities with it are endless according to Razer.</p> <p>For example, the social sharing features combined with the life tracking features of the Nabu have the potential to be gamefied. Like how the <em>Zombies, Run!</em> app uses the data from your runs to and transforms it into missions, with the inclusion of the social sharing aspect of the Nabu, similar games can add a social element, like maybe teaming up or maybe even competing with each other based on the life data collected.</p> <p>Razer doesn&rsquo;t want to limit it to gaming aspects either. They said that the Nabu has great potential in a business setting, especially for contact exchanges and networking.</p> <p>These however were just examples that Razer gave us. They did confirm they are already in talks with various app developers to integrate Nabu support into their existing apps but kept mum on just who they were talking to. What they did reveal to us though is that there will be no shortage of apps with Nabu support as 15,000 developers have already signed up to develop apps for the Nabu.</p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image"> <div class="field-label">Image #1:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image" width="567" height="425" alt="" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/Nabu%20Utility%20app.jpg?1391698174" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-make-full-width"> <div class="field-label">Make full width:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Do not make full width </div> </div> </div> </fieldset> <fieldset class="content-multigroup-wrapper content-multigroup-5"><div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-section-paginate"> <div class="field-label">Paginate on this section:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Don't paginate </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-title"> <div class="field-label">Title:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> There’s got to be a gaming angle in there somewhere? </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-body"> <div class="field-label">Body:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <p>Actually there is, but it&rsquo;s not yet set in stone. It&#39;s time consuming, yes but it isn&#39;t really much of an issue. Especially since getting a rig all fixed up with the latest gear will mean that extra frame or performance boost while gaming. For the rest of us mere mortals however, we sometimes have problems getting our simple printers to work, what more assembling a rig on our own. So wouldn&#39;t it be great if upgrading a PC would be as simple as plugging in a USB port?</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <div class="field field-type-userreference field-field-byline"> <div class="field-label">Byline:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <a href="/my/users/sharil-abdul-rahman" title="View user profile.">Sharil Abdul Rahman</a> </div> </div> </div> <fieldset class="content-multigroup-group-sections"><legend>News Section</legend><fieldset class="content-multigroup-wrapper content-multigroup-0"><div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-section-paginate"> <div class="field-label">Paginate on this section:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Don't paginate </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-title"> <div class="field-label">Title:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> The Lego Like PC </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-body"> <div class="field-label">Body:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <p>Apparently, Razer thinks so and their latest project, codenamed Christine, might just be what brings the PC back into the mainstream, far away from the dark corners of the geeky enthusiasts room. So what&#39;s so revolutionary about Project Christine? It&#39;s the modular design that it&#39;s adopted. It&#39;s aim in a nutshell, is exactly what we mentioned; making PC upgrades as simple as plugging in a USB cable.&nbsp;</p> <p>How Project Christine does this is by adopting a modular design, allowing users to build their PC like you&#39;d build Legos. No more will you need something resembling a rocket science degree to build your own PC. Need a new graphics cards? Just slide and slot it in. Need new storage? It&#39;ll be as simple as pulling out a box and slotting another back in. New processor, graphic cards, memory, everything you need to change would be as simple as plugging it in. Best of all? No cables. There&#39;s even liqiud cooling and a touch screen LED display. Operating systems? Whatever you want, be it Windows, Steam OS and if you could even manage it, OS X. The key thing here for Razer is modularity.</p> <p>And don&#39;t think for a second that Project Christine will look like an ugly bunch of boxes stuck together. If it isn&#39;t already apparent from the design and styling of their Razer Blade, Razer seems to have taken some care into making Project Christine look good, as you&#39;ll see in the images we&#39;ve posted. No news of when this project will be going into full production, but if the Razer Blade was anything to go by, we might just see this hitting our shelves really soon.&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-hcmvideofield-video field-field-brightcove-video"> <div class="field-label">Video ID/URL:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <div class="messages warning">This video is not currently supported.</div> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image"> <div class="field-label">Image #1:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image" width="567" height="425" alt="" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/PC2.jpg?1389142889" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image-2"> <div class="field-label">Image #2:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image_2" width="567" height="425" alt="" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/PC3.jpg?1389142889" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-make-full-width"> <div class="field-label">Make full width:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Do not make full width </div> </div> </div> </fieldset> </fieldset> http://www.stuff.tv/my/razer/ces-2014/Razer-project-christine/news#comments CES 2014 PC Razer Tue, 07 Jan 2014 18:00:00 +0000 Sharil Abdul Rahman 1430858 at http://www.stuff.tv Razer introduces new headphone series http://www.stuff.tv/my/music/razer-introduces-new-headphone-series/news <div class="field field-type-text field-field-standfirst"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> The Adaro line of headphone has four models, covers all bases </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-main-image"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_main_image" width="1200" height="900" alt="" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/images/news/razer_main-big.jpg?1389004828" /> </div> </div> </div> <p>Razer has just announced not one but four brand new headsets in their Adaro series of personal audio devices, each with their own special focus and built like tanks (yes, even the in-ear ones)</p> <p>The range currently features four models: bass-heavy earphones, analog stereo headphones, Bluetooth&reg; headphones and DJ-style headphones, with Razer saying they will have more models to come since their initial foray into products tuned for music following the success of the Razer Kraken and Electra.&nbsp;</p> <fieldset class="content-multigroup-group-sections"><legend>News Section</legend><fieldset class="content-multigroup-wrapper content-multigroup-0"><div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-section-paginate"> <div class="field-label">Paginate on this section:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Don't paginate </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-title"> <div class="field-label">Title:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> In-ear </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-body"> <div class="field-label">Body:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <p>Coming with a flat anti-tangle cable in Razer&rsquo;s signature green, these earphones have tiny precision tuned 10mm dynamic drivers squished into an aluminium body for something we find many in-ear products sorely lack; the ability to survive being banged around with daily use.
