The new Nikon 1 J4 is the ultimate portable camera

Perfect for any budding photographer or even the most experienced one

Picture this – you’re on a safari and happen to be lucky enough to encounter a lion about to pounce on its victim. You quickly snap a roll of pictures only to later find them as blurry as your grandma's glasses-less vision.

Reality check; you need the new Nikon 1 J4.

Described by Nikon as the world’s fastest continuous shooting speed camera, the 232g J4 photographs approximately 20 fps with AF. This means it’s faster than most DSLR models and perfect for capturing moving targets be it the tiger from your safari, a zippy supercar, or more realistically, a hyperactive child.

The 18.4-megapixel compact's auto photo capture function automatically takes photos for you during video recording, while thoughtfully curating and deleting the bad ones. To add to its existing wits, its smart photo selector function chooses what it thinks are the best five pictures in a burst of shots. So heavy blinkers, don't worry about shots in which you look fast asleep.

With its built-in Wi-Fi, you can flood your family and friends with images as soon as they're taken. Just don’t forget to download the free iOS or Android app first. For underwater fun, there's the option to purchase accessories such as the WP-N3 waterproof case and the SB-M10 underwater speedlight separately.

In addition, Nikon is releasing the AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-300MM f/3.5-6.3G ED VR, a high-power zoom lens compatible with Nikon DX-format DSLR cameras.

No numbers have been announced yet, but once they drop, you know you'll find them here.
