The Samsung Tab 3 10.1 is the successor to the previous Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 tablet, but you could say it's a minor refresh as opposed to a complete update.
It's maintained the the same 1280 x 800 screen, 16GB of internal memory, 1GB of RAM and the same 3.2 megapixel camera. It even looks the same, maintaining the plastic build and front face. If you were to put both the Tab 2 10.1 and Tab 3 10.1 side by side, you might not be able to tell the difference. What is different is the processor - Sammy has bumped up the tablets power to a 1.6 GHz Dual core processor, specifically Intel's Z2560 processor. There are other minor additions as well, including a 1.3MP front facing camera, the Android 4.2 OS and an LTE enabled version of the Tab 3 (for RM300 more).
Coming right after the recent Samsung Galaxy Note 3.0 launch, the tablet is aiming for the niche that wants a single dedicated device as opposed to hybrids. Samsung has also included the tablet as part of its Samsung Galaxy Rewards program that promises exclusive content for selected devices.
Pricing for the Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 is set at RM1599 for the LTE version and RM1299 for just plain Wi-Fi and should be available now from official Samsung retailers.
