New rumours from Japanese website Mac Otakara suggest that there will be not one, not two, but four new iPads at Apple’s upcoming March event.
Previous reports have suggested a trio of new iPad Pros: a new 10.5in and updated versions of the current 9.7in and 12.9in. But Mac Otakara states that the tiniest iPad of them all, the iPad Mini, will be joining the Pro line-up. It will gain Pro features like a Smart Connector, True Tone display and four speakers, as Apple attempts to streamline its iPad line-up. Since the iPad Mini 4 was launched in late 2015, an update is pretty much inevitable.
What gives with the similar 10.5in and 9.7in iPad Pros, you ask? It’s said that the all new 10.5in addition will be a premium version that comes with an edge-to-edge display and without a home button to set it apart from the rest of the range.
Mac Otakara also claims that there will be a 128GB of the iPhone SE, red variants of the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, as well as new Apple Watch bands announced at the same event.
While everything’s resembling a he-said-she-said situation right now, it’s pretty certain that we can expect new iPads in March. One more thing, we hope Apple has come up with a better naming strategy for the differently sized iPads because having to remember screen sizes is probably not going to stick.
