Tinker Edge R is a single-board computer (SBC) specially designed for AI applications, launched by ASUS.
It uses a Rockchip RK3399Pro NPU, a machine-learning (ML) accelerator that speeds up processing efficiency, lowers power demands and makes it easier to build connected devices and intelligent applications. The Edge R is designed for machine learning and features a good set of I/O interface that includes one MIPI-DSI, two MIPI-CSI, one 40-pin GPIO and a PCIe Mini expansion slot.
It can support multiple operating systems and dev tool that include Linux and Android, and additionally, a robust API and SDK for developers. With the onboard ML accelerator, Tinker Edge R can perform three tera-operations per second (3TOPS), using low power consumption. Tinker Edge R features 4GB of dual-channel LPDDR4 RAM, 2GB of standalone memory for the NPU, and onboard 16GB eMMC and SD 3.0 interface. A full-size HDMI port, USB Type-A, USB Type-C, Gigabit LAN and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for internet and network connectivity are available on that tiny board too.
