In the last three days, there’s been announcements from Jaguar, Lamborghini and BMW; all three launching their poster cars in India in a state of complete lockdown. But, the roads will open soon and so will the exhaust valves of these beauties, so we live in hope. The Jaguar F-Type has been given a mid-life refresh with new-ish interiors that get bigger screens and only two engine options – the 2.0 turbo-petrol 4cyl and the 5.0 supercharged V8. Prices vary from ₹95.12 lakh all the way to ₹2.42 crore for the AWD V8 convertible model. Lamborghini, on the other hand, has removed the roof on its Huracan Evo RWD, which was launched earlier this year, but retained the same, spine tingling 610hp, 5.2 litre V10 for a noise that will instantly make your right foot heavier. Even the rear window can be lowered, regardless of the roof position to let more of the V10 sound penetrate into the cabin! Prices for the Huracan Evo RWD Spyder in India are yet to be revealed, though, so put that card back where it belongs, tiger. Finally, BMW today ensured that we have something to look forward to as soon as the lockdown ends. The 8 Series Gran Coupe, which is a four-door grand tourer, and the M8 Coupe will both be available via the BMW Contactless Experience online retail platform starting today (bring that card out again, tiger). Priced from ₹1.3 crore to ₹2.15 crore, whichever variant of the 8 series you lean towards, it promises exclusivity and performance with either a straight six or a V8 powerplant under the hood.
