A little late to the party, but Huawei just announced it is also bringing its Huawei P9 Plus to Malaysia. The Huawei P9 was announced much earlier and is already on sale here.
The P9 Plus runs on the octa-core Kirin 955 processor, matched with 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. The 5.5in display puts it firmly in large phablet territory with 1080 x 1920 resolution.
As for the camera, the Leica-branded lens are here, featured on the 12MP f/2.2 rear camera with phase detection autofocus and dual-LED flash, with a 5MP front camera. The battery is rated at 3400mAh and it also supports microSD and dual-SIM.
The phone is selling for RM2599 and while Huawei is not running specific promos for the phone, DirectD is giving away free gifts that include a selfie stick and powerbank for the first 99 people to preorder the phone on the site.
If you'd just like to give the phone a spin, you can head down to the nearest official Huawei Experience store from 10 June onwards and see if bigger really is better. For an idea of what the phone would be like, here's what we think about its smaller counterpart, the Huawei P9.
