The iPad Air 2 might show up at Apple’s 16 October event

It’s not exactly new news now that Apple’s scheduled for yet another press event on 16 October, but what remains a mystery is the product (or products) that will be shown off at the event. Rumour has it that it’s going to be the iPad Air 2, and said to sport a slimmer chassis, removed mute toggle, in addition to a Touch ID sensor built in. We'll just have to wait and see.

The RE action camera wasn’t the only thing HTC pulled out of its hat at its Double Exposure event last week – the HTC Desire Eye also made its debut. This new gizmo packs twin 13MP cameras (one on the front and one on the back) for all you selfie-loving people. Round the front, it’s an f/2.2 camera with a 22mm wide-angle lens; on the back, you've got a f/2.0 camera with a 28mm wide-angle lens.

Welcome to the future of Wi-Fi – Samsung’s created a new 60Ghz Wi-Fi tech that claims to boost speeds five times over. That will mean its data transmission speeds will transition from 866Mbps (108MB per second) to 4.6Gbps (575MB per second). And you won’t have to wait too long to get it either – it claims commercialization is expected as early as next year.

The Google Nexus 6 might be here soon

This is news you’d want to know if you’re expecting the arrival of the Google Nexus 6 (also known as Nexus X or “Shamu”). Apparently, the purported device is set to make its grand entrance sometime next week, for a cost of about £450 (RM2344). It may be on the pricier side of the Nexus spectrum, but its alleged top-end specs fit the bill.
