When Xiaomi launched the first Mi Mix, they showed how design and hardware conventions can be pushed for innovation. Its near bezel-less design with the ceramic build material really wowed the smartphone scene. Now, we’ve come to its third iteration with the Mi Mix 3 which we had a chance for a hands-on with.

The Mi Mix 3 continues to deliver on the near bezel less display and the ceramic body. The Sapphire Blue of the Mix 3 looks absolutely stunning, with the golden ‘Mix’ name contrasting its reflective surface.

The display is as you’d expect - huge, at 6.39”.  Without the cameras and sensors in front of the screen, you can enjoy the phone in its full glory. At 403 ppi, the screen is bright and gives off vibrant colours. Watching Youtube video just feels right even especially when you zoom in the video to cover the full display.

The phone sports four cameras. The two rear cameras are dual 12MP - one wide, one telephoto. We took some test shots with the camera and we were impressed by the details it captured, especially in the highlights and shadows. As for the front camera - to access it, all you need to do is to slide the screen element of the phone. The cameras  themselves are 24MP + 2MP depth sensor combo, which is sure to take great selfie photos as well.

You won’t have to worry about the Mi Mix 3’s performance thanks to  the Snapdragon 845 - the best in the market right now, and 8gb of RAM. We didn’t manage to try out any gaming, but without a doubt the phone will deliver in performance.

Under all that screen is a relatively small 3200 mAh battery which is charged by USB-C and is compatible with Qi wireless charging as well, which is an industry standard used by various brands. For security, the Mi Mix 3 has a fingerprint sensor on the back for fast unlocking.

The Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 has a lot to impress us with and beyond. Be sure to stay tuned to Stuff for a full review in the near future.
