Realme is at it again. Ever since their entry into the smartphone market, the company has been releasing smartphones with impressive specifications but at affordable prices - even for their own flagship models. Just recently, the company has launched the latest entry to their flagship line in India with the Realme X, a full screen smartphone featuring a pop-up selfie camera module - a first for the company.
The smartphone is equipped with a 6.53-inch notchless display with a resolution of 2340 x 1080, Gorilla Glass 5 protection, and includes the latest in-display fingerprint sensor which is claimed to be 8% faster than its predecessors. It features a rear glass cover with a “S-shaped Light Curve” design which comes in two colour variants: Space Blue and Polar White. Interestingly, in regards to the latter colour option, this is the first time a Realme phone is made available in white.
The Realme X is powered by a Snapdragon 710 AIE processor, up to 8GB RAM, and 128GB of storage. Thanks to its impressive specifications and Hyper Boost 2.0 optimisation, the smartphone is claimed to run current games such as PUBG without a hitch. Its 3,765mAh battery features VOOC 3.0 20W charging via USB Type-C, and rest assured that the phone does include a 3.5mm headphone jack. Speaking of headphones support, the phone comes with Dolby Atmos enhancements for an immersive audio experience when gaming or watching videos.
For photography, the Realme X is equipped with a dual camera setup consisting of a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor with a 5MP secondary. The camera launcher includes various modes with AI enhanced functions such as fan favourite Nightscape Mode which captures lowlight images with remarkable detail, and a new Chroma Boost mode which enhances HDR and improves colours in images. Its pop-up camera sports a 16MP Sony IMX471 sensor with AI beauty enhancements, features sapphire glass protection, and is equipped with a fall sensor that retracts the camera when the phone is dropped.
The Realme X will be on sale in India on 24th July 2019 and retailing at Rs 16,999 (~MYR 1,020) for the 4GB variant, and Rs 19,999 (~MYR 1,199) for the 8GB variant. Also announced are two special editions of the phone which includes the Realme X Master Edition designed by Japanese industrial designer Naoto Fukasawa, and the Realme X Spider-Man: Far From Home edition. Both special editions are only available with 8GB RAM, and will retail at Rs 19,999 (~MYR 1,199) for the Master Edition, and Rs 20,999 (~MYR 1,260) for the Spider-Man: Far From Home edition.
For now, there’s no official word from Realme on the phone’s availability or pricing in Malaysia.
