Android tablets have been falling behind Apple’s iPad line for a few years now, but Huawei is here to challenge that. The newly announced iPad Pro-a-like Huawei MediaPad Pro 5G is all about the premium with Huawei cramming the MatePad chock full with cutting edge tech not found on iPads, including 5G, and a first for tablets, wireless and reverse wireless charging.
Design wise, the HUAWEI MatePad Pro 5G features the world’s highest tablet screen-to-body ratio, at 90%, with ultra-narrow 4.9mm bezels surrounding the 10.8-inch 16:10 display. It comes with 7250mAh battery and the power-saving features integrated into Kirin 990 5G and EMUI means you're going to get a lot out of one charge. And when you do, it supports the 40W HUAWEI SuperCharge.
What makes the MatePad Pro standout is the pretty impressive features to make your life even more productive such as the Huawei Share that enables Multi-screen Collaboration, that enables drag-and-drop file transfers between smartphones and tablets. You can type messages for your smartphone through the MatePad, play music from the smartphone on the MatePad, and even pick up calls or respond to text messages directly through the MatePad. Neat!
You can even multi task with the Multi-Windowletting you have three apps on screen at once and with the Floating Window, you can respond to text messages while gaming or watching a film without minimising the app. For more productivity, and even doing artwork, you can pair the device with the Huawei M-Pencil with 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity, and the Smart Magnetic Keyboard that can be easily connected via Bluetooth.
The major problem is it lacks Google apps as Huawei continues to depend on their own Huawei Mobile Services (HMS). Try as they might, HMS is still lacking in offering the apps many of us depend on currently. If that doesn't bother you though the Huawei MatePad Pro is available in Midnight Grey and Pearl White, and will be retailing in Malaysia at the price of RM2399 with the specification of 8GB RAM and 256GB ROM.
