Have you met the Samsung Galaxy Note 4?
On Wednesday 3 September there's Samsung Unpacked 2014, where the Koreans unleash the new Samsung Galaxy Note 4 on the world. Expect a big screen with a higher screen resolution and a rumoured 64-bit octo-core processor amongst its hardware upgrades.

For design, we might bid farewell to its predecessor's faux leather body. But what really got us psyched is the possibility of two versions of the Samsung phablet - a normal, boring version and one with a curved display. And apparently, Singapore might get both versions, though not at the same time.
Sony gets rugged (again)
Then, there's Sony's Xperia Z3 event. Well, not just the Xperia Z3, there'll be three water-resistant devices due to make their debuts. We're guessing at least two smartphones and a compact tablet appearing at the Sony press conference. Of course, we could be wrong, but we have absolute faith in our sources*.

Microsoft takes a selfie
Last but not least, Microsoft's press conference takes place on Thursday 4 September. Surprisingly, its announcement is the most closely guarded secret till now. The camera module featured on its official invite is a dead giveaway, leading us to believe the rumoured 5MP front camera for this selfie-centric Windows Phone, possibly a mid-range Lumia 730.
