The Lava 4G Connect M1 is India’s first 4G feature phone that won’t cost you a bomb

Don’t let its tiny display fool you

Now that you’ve splurged on that expensive smartphone, how about buying a second dirt-cheap backup phone that allows you to use your dirt-cheap Jio SIM? One that will let you make calls and connect to the internet?

Touted as India’s first ultra-affordable 4G-enabled feature phone, the 4G Connect M1 will set you back by only ₹3,333.

Powered by 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, Lava 4G Connect M1 gives you 512 MB RAM and 4GB ROM, which is expandable upto 32GB. It has a tiny 2.4-in display, 1750 mAh battery and VGA camera on the back. The Lava 4G Connect M1 comes with Wireless FM and Bluetooth connectivity as well. Further connectivity options, besides 4G, include Wi-Fi and 3G.

The Lava 4G Connect M1 supports VoLTE, which means that if you have a Jio SIM, you’ll be able to make calls with this device. The phone also supports 2G voice calling and EDGE connectivity. On the downside, this is not a dual-SIM device. However, this phone is a godsend for a sizeable segment of feature phone users in India using the devices to only make calls. They’ll now also be able to access the internet and conduct digital transactions.

The feature phone will soon be available across retail stores and multi-brand outlets across India over the next few weeks.
