Despite what you may think of the Huracán, you can’t deny its blistering performance.
It was a sad day when our beloved Gallardo ended its reign as the baby Lambo after a decade in production and many tweaks and changes. Its replacement, the Huracán, carries the mantle of the baby Lambo and adds to its legacy. What it lacks in outlandish styling, it more than makes up for in sheer performance. The newest iteration of the Huracán takes performance to a whole new level.
Warp speed in 2.9 seconds
Nudging Hypercar territory, the Huracán Performante accelerates to 100 kmph, faster than you can say its name. This jaw-dropping performance comes courtesy of a 5.2 litre, naturally aspirated V10 engine, putting out 640 pure, Italian, pasta-eating horses. Claimed to be the most powerful V10 ever produced by Lamborghini, this engine should pack a wallop! Just imagining that monstrous engine firing away right where the back seats of a normal car would be, gives us the heebie jeebies. Add to that a reduction in weight of about 40kgs due to the utilisation of lightweight materials, giving you an amazing power-to-weight ratio.
Stop when the red lights flash!
The Huracán Performante should stop on a dime, owing to the combination of the Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires, permanent four-wheel drive, rear mechanical self-locking differential and of course, the hydraulic dual-circuit system with vacuum brake servo unit which has six-piston brake calipers at the front and four-piston calipers at the rear. Don’t brake too hard though. You do not want your lunch to be plastered all over the dash!
Designer performance in a designer package
Well, it should come as no surprise that a Lambo is going to turn heads no matter where it goes. It does a very good job of getting people’s attention with its bright colours, aggressive styling and the concerto that is its exhaust note. But there’s more to it than meets the eye.
The Huracán Performante sees a 750% increase in vertical downforce over the Huracán coupé provided by the active aerodynamics package and the rear wing. All this engineering wizardry to keep you on the road at outrageous speeds that can go upto 325 kmph.
State-of-the-art technologies and high-end materials grace the interiors and the exteriors of the Huracán Performante. From the multi-layered paint coat to the extensive use of carbon fiber, this new Lambo sets new performance and premium benchmarks. The cost of all this unadulterated superiority? Starting at a whopping ₹3.97 crore, this seven-star experience is out of most people's budget. We just have to be satisfied watching it whizz by, which, in our opinion, isn’t too bad either.
