Here in India for a tour. Gracing itself in Mumbai.

Every Indian football fan will reciprocate the feeling of seeing the UEFA Champions League trophy here in their own motherland. It’s an honor and we went to watch it for ourselves. We couldn’t believe that this is the same trophy that the Champions lift after winning the finals. Which in our case is the best final in the history of football. Period.

Heineken is the partner of UEFA Champions League since 2005 and is responsible for getting the trophy here to India this year. This is the first time the trophy has arrived officially in India under the worldwide activation campaign called Champion the Trophy.

Luis Garcia unveiled the trophy after exciting the fans in a 5v5 match facing Sunil Chhetri. The match ended in a 6-6 draw.

So, where will the trophy be going after shining over Mahalaxmi racecourse? Bandra, Carter Road and Shivaji Park are next on the daily schedule for 10th April. You might just get a glimpse of it before it reaches inside the safe haven of Taj Lands End at night by 8pm. Thereafter leaving us for its final destination - Vietnam. The trophy has already been to Jamaica, Panama, Colombia and Egypt. So, we were one of the six lucky countries in the world to be selected for the activation campaign.
