First debuted at CES 2019,  BOB or Blok on Blok is the world’s first blockchain-powered smartphone built by Pundi X (one of the largest decentralised cryptocurrency sales networks), which can now be pre-ordered online at $599. The phone looks out of place (in a good way) in 2019. It appears to come from a time much beyond ours, think Hideo Khojima’s Death Stranding post apocalyptic setting with all the hazard signs, knobs and screws on it. It’s powered by not one, but two operating systems that can be switched with a single swipe on the display. Its blockchain smarts come from Function X OS operating system that’s built on blockchain principles. All smartphone tasks like calling, texting, browsing the web and more take place on a decentralised network, meaning no one (and that’s a big NO), not even your cellular operator gets access to your data. Even if you aren’t into whole blockchain thing but still dig how it looks, you can still use the Android 9 Pie side of the phone. And if you think you can do better with the modular design, well, you can personalise that too with DIY accessories or your own 3D-printed design. Powered by a Snapdragon 660 chipset, 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, and 48MP rear camera, this one’s for the tweakers!
