My Gadget Life - Yuvraj Singh

The newest addition to the Mumbai Indians’ IPL team talks about his Candy Crush addiction and his latest association with online fantasy games platform, LivePools…

Yuvraj Singh is all set for his comeback with the upcoming IPL.

He also has a new role - that of the brand ambassador for LivePools. This sports-tech startup is a skill-based sports predictor game platform, across cricket, football and kabaddi, and Yuvi thinks it’s a great association for him as a sportsman and a lover of all the above mentioned sports.

Fans across sports find a common ground to predict scores, match outcomes, top batsmen and bowlers. You get rewarded (point-based) on how many correct answers you get, and voila… cricket mania (among other things) is under control for the upcoming matches.

We had a quick chat with Yuvraj Singh and he tells us about the gadgets he loves using, the ones on his wishlist and more…

My Football predictions on LivePools are pretty accurate… In fact, I was on point during the Football World Cup. I predicted before the World Cup started that France is going to win, and they did!

I interact with my fans on Social Media as often as possible… Every fan has a point of view. Though it’s hard to read and respond to each message personally, but I make it a point to respond as frequently and as much as possible.

The apps I’m addicted to… are LivePools, obviously! The digital space is growing and it’s a great way for sports fanatics to engage with each other. Gaurav (Assomull, Co-founder, LivePools) and I love the Fantasy Premier League… I’m more attracted to the content-driven that give you statistics, like CricBuzz, ESPNcricinfo - these platforms are good for information. And yes, Candy Crush Soda Saga is my latest addiction. I play a lot of Candy Crush...

My top favourite sportsmen include… Tiger Woods (Golf), LeBron James (Basketball), Sachin Tendulkar (Cricket), Muhammad Ali (Boxing) and Roger Federer.

The belief inside - not to give up… the fight within you and constantly proving to yourself that you still can do it, rather than listening to others - is what keeps me going.

I use the iPhone X… and that’s one gadget I absolutely can’t do without. I want to get the new iPad.

The Bose SoundWear Companion Speaker is pretty cool and that’s one tech toy that’s on my wishlist… don’t have enough money to put a cool car on that list right now. Maybe once I hit a few more sixes, I’ll get a car.
