You also get a nice 3GB of memory as opposed to 2GB in the older model and as rumoured, the screen is a 5-inch 1080p screen with full lamination.</p> <p>This time around though, there&#39;ll be a choice between either 16GB of internal memory or 64GB, with no in-between. The camera seems pretty much the same - a 13MP rear and 8MP front camera. A Sony stacked CMOS camera, no less. As for the battery, this time around it&#39;s a 3080 mAH capacity one where the Mi3 had 3050 mAH. A very small tweak but still an upgrade anyhow.</p> <p>As for LTE, Xiaomi confirmed that the Mi4 will support 4G but only TD-LTE so far, no word on whether or when it will support the more common FDD-LTE standard.</p> <p>Also announced was the next revision of its MIUI, where version six will apparently go live this August 16.</p> <p>A surprise, though, is the Xiaomi smartband. Apparently retailing for 79 yuan (RM40) and coming in a variety of pretty colours, it&#39;s called the Mi Band. Besides having a claimed 30 day standby time, it can also be used to unlock your Mi phone, monitor sleep and exercise data, and is apparently waterproof.</p> <p>At the launch event in Beijing today, CEO Lei Jun shared some pretty good numbers with the crowd saying that Xiaomi has sold 26.11 million phones so far in H1 2014, an increase of 271 per cent from H1 2013.</p> <p>The Mi4 is priced at 1999 yuan (RM1023) for the 16GB version and 2499 yuan (RM1278) for the 64GB unit.</p> <p><strong>READ MORE</strong>: <a href="http://www.stuff.tv/my/android/xiaomi-mi3/review">Xiaomi Mi3 Well, this leak could just prove us right.</p> <p>According to GizChina.com, Xiaomi&rsquo;s working on upgrades for two of its phones &ndash; the Redmi and the Redmi Note. Apparently, Tenaa, the Chinese telco equipment certification centre has licensed the two smartphone units.</p> <div class="field field-type-userreference field-field-byline"> <div class="field-label">Byline:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <a href="/my/users/hafizahosman" title="View user profile.">Hafizah Osman</a> </div> </div> </div> <fieldset class="content-multigroup-group-sections"><legend>News Section</legend><fieldset class="content-multigroup-wrapper content-multigroup-0"><div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-section-paginate"> <div class="field-label">Paginate on this section:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Don't paginate </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-title"> <div class="field-label">Title:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> More feature packed </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-body"> <div class="field-label">Body:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <p>It is likely to have either the Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 or MediaTek MT6595 chipset. Unless, you look at it the other way (it was inked as 2014-7-9), which means you can expect it on 7 September.</p> <p>Even that date doesn&rsquo;t quite make sense, because that would indicate that the devices won&rsquo;t rock up at Xiaomi&rsquo;s product event and it&rsquo;s not quite the style for Xiaomi product leaks to emerge so early before launch date.</p> <p>All we can do for now is wait for next week to see what Xiaomi&rsquo;s got in store for us. &nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>READ MORE: </strong><a href="http://www.stuff.tv/sg/android/xiaomi-s-red-army-budget-smartphone-dominator/news">T</a><a href="http://www.stuff.tv/my/android/xiaomi-s-red-army-budget-smartphone-dominator/news">he problem with selling 13,000 units of Xiaomi devices in about 15 minutes in Malaysia&nbsp;</a></p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <h1 itemprop="name">&nbsp;</h1> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-hcmvideofield-video field-field-brightcove-video"> <div class="field-label">Video ID/URL:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <div class="messages warning">This video is not currently supported.</div> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-image"> <div class="field-label">Image #1:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_image" width="567" height="425" title="Rumour: Xiaomi’s preparing the Redmi and Redmi Note with 4G LTE" alt="Rumour: Xiaomi’s preparing the Redmi and Redmi Note with 4G LTE" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/leak.jpg?1405663750" /> </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-make-full-width"> <div class="field-label">Make full width:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Do not make full width </div> </div> </div> </fieldset> </fieldset> <p><a href="http://www.stuff.tv/my/android/rumour-xiaomi-s-preparing-redmi-and-redmi-note-4g-lte/news" target="_blank">read more</a></p> http://www.stuff.tv/my/android/rumour-xiaomi-s-preparing-redmi-and-redmi-note-4g-lte/news#comments Android Smartphones Xiaomi Fri, 18 Jul 2014 03:26:38 +0000 Hafizah Osman 1442450 at http://www.stuff.tv This is the Xiaomi Mi4 and it’s coming soon, according to this leak http://www.stuff.tv/my/android/xiaomi-mi4-and-it-s-coming-soon-according-leak/news <div class="field field-type-text field-field-standfirst"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Declares all you need to know about the purported model’s looks, specs, features, and pricing </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-enable-hero"> <div class="field-label">Enable hero:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Enable full width image </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-filefield field-field-main-image"> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <img class="imagefield imagefield-field_main_image" width="567" height="425" title="This is the Xiaomi Mi4 and it’s coming soon, according to this leak" alt="This is the Xiaomi Mi4 and it’s coming soon, according to this leak" src="http://images.cdn.stuff.tv/sites/stuff.tv/files/images/news/mi4.jpg?1405567093" /> </div> </div> </div> <p>Have a close look at this leaked image; it could very well be the Xiaomi Mi4 that you&rsquo;ve been eagerly waiting for. <a href="http://www.xiaomiworld.com/xiaomi-mi4.html#" target="_blank">Online retailer Xiaomiworld</a>&nbsp;has given us a glimpse into what&rsquo;s in store for the coming weeks, by revealing (lots of) information about the flagship product.</p> <div class="field field-type-userreference field-field-byline"> <div class="field-label">Byline:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <a href="/my/users/hafizahosman" title="View user profile.">Hafizah Osman</a> </div> </div> </div> <fieldset class="content-multigroup-group-sections"><legend>News Section</legend><fieldset class="content-multigroup-wrapper content-multigroup-0"><div class="field field-type-number-integer field-field-section-paginate"> <div class="field-label">Paginate on this section:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Don't paginate </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-title"> <div class="field-label">Title:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> Too much information </div> </div> </div> <div class="field field-type-text field-field-body"> <div class="field-label">Body:&nbsp;</div> <div class="field-items"> <div class="field-item odd"> <p>The device is claimed to sport a 5.5in, 2K quad HD display, along with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chip, 16GB of flash storage, 3GB of RAM, a 13MP back camera, as well as an 8MP front-facing shooter.
