Don’t forget that you can shoot for the Mi Band too as it’s released at the same time.

But back to the power bank: this behemoth of a battery isn’t quite as scary as it looks; it measures 145 x 60.4 x 22mm and weighs 350g. As you can see from the picture below it’s roughly the length of an outstretched palm. Despite the massive capacity you can get a full charge with a 5V, 2A charger in nine hours, as opposed to almost 15 hours on 1A chargers – like those that come stock with the iPhone.

As with its previous efforts, you can count on the build quality of the 16,000mAh power bank to be excellent, and in no way does it look the part of a RM79 battery – yes you heard that right, all the power in the world in your hand for the price of a steak. No prizes for guessing which one gives you better mileage. While it doesn’t do much beyond measuring your steps taken as well as calories burned, and there’s no integration with popular monitoring apps like Runkeeper, it’s got enough of the basics covered to warrant a place on your wrist.

It works with many Android phones but for full functionality, you need a Mi 3 or a Redmi Note 4G. One of its coolest features is its ability to automatically unlock your Mi Phone’s screen by putting the Mi Band in close proximity with the phone. Other nice touches include being able to use the vibration to notify you of incoming calls, as well as a wake up alarm to gently vibrate you into consciousness.

The Mi Band’s standout feature is undoubtedly its battery life – rated for 30 days compared to its competitors like the Fitbit Flex or Jawbone UP24, which are rated for 5 days and 14 days respectively. And when you’ve exhausted all options or can’t seem to figure out where the junk files are residing, this MIUI feature will come to your rescue.

MIUI’s cleaner feature scans through the phone’s file system, catching unused files saved in the cache folders. It’s also smart enough to notice ads that are residing in the phone, and proceeds to wipe them out with extreme prejudice.

Still, you’ll need to exercise prudence with file saving. Don’t go hogging your phone’s internal and external storage with useless kitty videos.

To activate: go to the security app, select cleaner followed by start scan and clean up.

Great for: hoarders who keep adding more unnecessary photos into their phones.

Make full width:

Do not make full width

</fieldset> <fieldset class="content-multigroup-wrapper content-multigroup-9">

Paginate on this section:

Paginate

Title:

Lock your apps

Body:

This is another feature for the OCD freak in you. If you absolutely hate the thought of apps clogging up your phone’s memory, you’ll want to wipe them off the face of the earth, well, more like from the background, every few seconds.

Alas, that means you’re also closing your trusty Facebook app that lets you keep tabs on your friends. What if we told you, you can keep Facebook running and close every other app with one quick sweep? Keep your favourite apps locked down in the multitasking menu, and with one tap, eliminate the other memory-hogging apps.

To activate: press and hold the menu button to bring up the multitasking menu. Swipe the app downwards to lock it down. Tap that tiny broom icon to clear the other apps.

Great for: anyone, really.
