The Force is with you: Fitbit launches latest tracking band with OLED display

Want to track your every move and be able to tell the time? Good news - Fitbit's new Force has a tiny display built in, and can can even tell you when you've got a phone call

The US$129 (RM411) gadget goes on sale this month, and links to your mobile to display incoming calls, as well as telling you the time at the press of a button.

However, the Force is more than just a fitness tracker (according to Fitbit, at least), and has some neat features - for instance, the dinky OLED can show you steps taken, distance traveled, calories burned, active minutes as well as floors climbed.

The partner-friendly fitness band boasts a silent alarm that vibrates your wrist until you're up. It can also monitor your sleep, and show you incoming call notifications - if you’re using an iPhone 4S.

Android users haven’t been forgotten entirely. They can use NFC to launch the fitbit app simply by tapping the band onto your phone.

"We are continuously looking for ways to take wireless tracking devices and wearable technologies to the next level, and I feel strongly that Force, with its sophisticated design and instant and easy access to all your daily activity right on your wrist, delivers on the promise of what a next-generation activity tracker should be," said James Park, CEO and Co-Founder of Fitbit.

The firm has also given its app a major overhaul, redesigning it for iOS 7 and adding support for the new bands, making it easy to irritate your friends by telling them exactly how many flights of stairs you’ve climbed.
