HUAWEI Malaysia just announced the availability of the 15.6-inch MateBook D 15 in the country at a price of RM2499. Malaysia is also the first location outside of China to introduce the laptop to the local market.
The MateBook D 15 has 3 USB ports (1x USB 3.0 and 2x USB 2.0), a 3.5mm headset jack, and an HDMI port. It will also come with a standard configuration of 8GB of RAM, 256GB SSD and 1TB HDD. The only available color known so far is Mystic Silver, attributing to the aluminum alloy body.
It measures at a 16.9 mm thickness and weighs at 1.9 Kg
The HUAWEI MateBook D 15 is powered by a 12nm AMD Ryzen™ 5 3500U mobile processor while the GPU is an AMD Radeon Vega 8 Graphics as according to official sources.
The display of the laptop is also known as FullView display, which provides an 87% screen-to-body ratio. The screen is a 16:8 IPS panel and supports FULL HD (1920 X 1080) resolution.
Additionally, the screen has an anti-glare coating and is certified by ÜV Rheinland for low blue light emission.
HUAWEI calls is their smallest and lightest 15.6-inch laptop in the same price category to date.
The MateBook D 15 will also feature new cross-screen collaboration capabilities that are based on HUAWEI's One Tap Share technology. One Tap Share is introduced in 2018 as an easy file transfer between smartphones and PCs - addressing file transfer challenges between Windows and Android devices.
With the new cross-screen collaboration, the MateBook and HUAWEI smartphones can share a single display, where users can drag files from one device to another seamlessly and peripherals connected to the laptop can also be used to control smartphone.
