Prep those tablets, Android KitKat rolling out to Nexus 7 and 10
Chocolate, anyone? The next Android 4.4 update or KitKat is finally on its way to Android devices. The first in line are Google's Nexus 7 (both 2012 and 2013 models) as well as the Nexus 10.
After all the early hype and hoop-la, not to mention the genius viral campaign, Android afficionadoes will be thrilled. But that still means months of waiting for non-stock Android models.
Nexus 4 users, rejoice
Nexus 4 phone and mobile-date enabled Nexus 7 tablets are next in line for the Android KitKat update. No release date has yet been given by Google besides a Tweet saying "soon".
But don't feel too bad about not getting the update quite yet if your Android device is a carrier or maker-customised device. As we've noted, KitKat is not all that much an overhaul. Android interface elements and core apps are now frequently being made standalone downloads from the Play Store, so you won't feel as though you're missing out that much from new features or app upgrades.
