Batman: Arkham Asylum and Arkham City may come to PS4 and Xbox One

Supposed leak suggests announcement tomorrow before June release

Many of the best games from the last generation of consoles have been given a bit of extra spit-polish and re-released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One - and it looks like the Dark Knight may join the party.

According to Eurogamer, a Batman Arkham HD Collection may be announced as soon as tomorrow, with the purported set bringing both Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City to both Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

The news comes via a GameStop employee, who sent in corporate emails alerting stores to the incoming announcement. Pre-orders will reportedly go live tomorrow when the game is revealed, and then the games are slated to release in a bundle on 10 June. Quite likely, the games will also be sold individually through each console's digital storefront.

The email suggests that both games will feature refreshed visuals for the new platforms - likely crisper resolutions, sharper textures, and improve frame rates - along with all of the downloadable content bundled in.

Both games were developed by Rocksteady and received largely glowing reviews upon their respective releases in 2009 and 2011. Missing from the package, however, is 2013's Batman: Arkham Origins, it appears. The prequel was handled by Warner Bros. Games Montreal, and wasn't as widely praised (although we loved it).

Last year, Rocksteady and Warner Bros. released Batman: Arkham Knight for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and the console versions were largely beloved by critics and fans alike - however, the PC version launched in shambles, and even following months of updates, it never seemed to live up to its potential. At least console players got the best of it.

And if this remastered bundle is really coming, then current console owners will be able to experience the whole core Arkham trilogy in one place, as well. We'll let you know if and hopefully when official word comes along.
