After a disastrous launch and subsequent delay, the Samsung Galaxy Fold has since been in a constant limbo, at any moment the world’s first foldable smartphone may or may never release. Since then, months of heading back yo the drawing board have had Samsung improve on their flawed design, and we now have confirmation that Samsung is ready to unleash the Fold once again.
Announced by Samsung themselves, the Galaxy Fold is finally coming this September worldwide. The Korean smartphone giant has fixed the Fold’s shatteringly vulnerable screen, which beats the point of the phone being foldable in the first place. The top protective layer of the Fold’s Infinity Flex Display has been extended beyond the bezel, making it apparent that it is an integral part of the display structure and not meant to be removed.
Besides that, the Galaxy Fold features additional reinforcements to better protect the device from external particles while maintaining its signature foldable experience. The top and bottom of the hinge area have been strengthened with newly added protection caps. Additional metal layers underneath the Infinity Flex Display have been included to reinforce the protection of the display. The space between the hinge and body of Galaxy Fold has been reduced.
Overall, the Galaxy Fold looks set to finally see the light of day in the coming 2 months, and consumers can finally enjoy the innovative smartphone they deserve. No release date or official pricing have been released just yet in Malaysia, but do expect it soon.
